Welcome to the new Panda

Welcome to the new Panda

Panda is absolutely thrilled to announce today, December 3rd, that we will be rebranding our team with new, innovative designs for our merchandise and online platforms!

Designed by New York-based branding and graphic design firm Chermayeff & Geismar & Haviv (CGH), we have re-engineered the Panda logo, as well as officially launching new, branded merchandise and streamlined uniforms for our professional players and fans that will be available on our website as of today.

In addition, as part of the shift, we will be simplifying our branding by referring to ourselves as simply “Panda.”

The new branding has been rolled out across our team’s social media platforms and websites, as well as the other branches of Panda: PGstats, PGhardware, and PGhealth. With thrilling teasers of upcoming launches and additions to Panda’s already robust roster, the response from our dedicated fans has so far been overwhelmingly positive!

Arguably, the cornerstone of esports branding is the team’s uniform. Utilizing the creative guidelines put together by CGH, the Panda merchandising team designed the Panda Pro Jersey and Panda Pro Track Jacket — produced by our longtime partner, Meta Threads. Geometric and bold, the 2021 jersey embodies black and white color blocking accented with the distinctive “Panda” green highlights; while the track jacket shows-off the double hexagon panda head logo partnered with the subtle bamboo watercolor style background. The Panda Pro Uniform sets the benchmark for fashion and function in Esports. Again, these new pieces of our merchandise are available for purchase on our team’s new website as of today.

Esports is the fastest growing sports entertainment industry in the world, and Panda is rising rapidly within it. Founded in 2015, Panda has become one of the largest esports teams in the world, much in thanks to our innovative approach to our growth as an organization and our dedication to supporting long-standing grassroots videogame communities-  with the intention of building a better model for the esports industry in the years to come.

“In the rapidly changing landscape that is esports, we need a brand that not only encompasses who we are today but who we will become ten years from now,” stated Dr. Alan Bunney, CEO of Panda. “CGH was able to capture a timeless image of Panda as a company and help us discover our identity in an industry that has not yet found itself.”

Our collaborator, New York based design firm Chermayeff & Geismar & Haviv (CGH), specializes in brand identities and has previously designed some of the world’s most recognizable trademarks. Both Panda and CGH are excited to collaborate on the design firm’s first foray into esports branding and are confident the result will make its mark on the industry.

“We were immediately drawn to Alan and David’s vision of an esports team that could foster talent and community—their plans for future expansion are compelling. They needed a singular identity that could reflect how different they are from their esports peers and would set them apart in the field and beyond,” said Sagi Haviv, Partner and Principal Designer, Chermayeff & Geismar & Haviv.

We truly can’t wait to share even more exciting news in the future with our fans and team partners!
