PANDA ANNOUNCES YEARS-LONG COMMITMENT TO SUPPORT BREAST CANCER RESEARCH

In 2021, we ran a number of campaigns and events to raise funds in support of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF), the largest private funder of breast cancer research in the world. Now, we are proud to announce our continued partnership with BCRF for the next three years.

We raised a total of $121,952.27 benefiting BCRF through a variety of different initiatives last year including influencer invitationals, open-bracket tournaments, and sales of the “BCRF Line,” a pink version of our classic Hold Forward merchandise line. With our extended agreement, we are excited to provide even more content, events, and merchandise to help support breast cancer research.

“Breast cancer has become the most common cancer in the world, surpassing lung cancer for the first time in 2021. It’s a milestone we never hoped to reach and greatly underscores the urgency for breast cancer research to improve prevention, diagnosis, treatment and survivorship,” said BCRF President and CEO Myra Biblowit. “It is our sole mission to eradicate this disease but we can’t do it alone. We’re grateful for this partnership with Panda Global to help us bring the end of breast cancer into focus, together.”

The Smash and FGC Communities have a longstanding history with BCRF. Back in 2013, when Evo held a donation drive to decide the final game in the lineup for that year’s event, Super Smash Bros. Melee fans raised an impressive $94,000 for the charity to secure the spot. In total, the campaign raised over $200,000 between all the eligible games. With this renewed partnership, we look forward to continuing to support the Breast Cancer Research Foundation with the help of our communities.

“Panda, as well as the communities we serve, have deep roots when it comes to supporting BCRF. We are committed to continuing our support of lifesaving breast cancer research and hope to engage our community in meaningful ways to make a difference for years to come.”

– Our CEO, Dr. Alan Bunney
