Panda Celebrates GEICOween

Our Pandas celebrated the spooky season with some friendly competition and scary fighting games during our GEICOween week.

Following in the footsteps of last year’s GEICOween, we challenged our Pandas with a familiar task: The players were sent crafting supplies and given 15 minutes to produce a Halloween costume of some sort. While last year’s winner, Marss, was busy figuring out what to come up with, both ESAM and WaDi had set plans from the get-go.

Of course, we overestimated our professional gamers. ESAM calculating the possibilities with the supplies in hand realized to ditch the Pikachu costume idea and go with the simpler Ash Ketchum Hat. On the other hand, Marss kept himself busy crafting the eye for his Mike Wazowski mask and WaDi had high hopes for his Cookie Monster reincarnated as an alien mask.

We here at Panda expect our players and teams to glue and bond together, but never realized that cracks lay at the foundation itself. We take full responsibility to teach our players “how to glue” quite literally.

So who came out on top of this challenge? We left that up to our judges JWong, Nephew, Punk, Kizzie, and Kitana Prime along with Smash commentator Coney. ESAM received the most votes out of the three and was the clear favorite, however the judges didn’t shy away from acknowledging Marss’ spirit in costume creation. We would further like to thank Kizzie for the “Eye Sam” critique; It did not ruin our nights and give us nightmares at all!

What would Halloween be without some scary games? After all, we all here love games. Darkstalkers 3, one of the spookiest, most Halloween-centric fighting games ever, was put to the test by our fighting game specialists. Darkstalkers is a great fighting game for Halloween fans, with characters inspired by traditional gothic monster cliches.

Yet many of our players found the game's hard option to be quite difficult and struggled to complete the one-player mode. With few players able to complete the challenge, JWong went on to proclaim himself as a “God” and we doubt anyone can refute that.

We would like to thank our Pandas for participating in this year’s GEICOween. While 15 minutes might not be enough for players to craft up a costume, it is an ample amount of time to help save you over 15% on auto or home insurance with GEICO.
